Our New Nest Progress

So we finally have a place to sit!

(That round chair is for the patio)

I grabbed this little side table from my grandma,

she replaced it with a large cabinet so it was free for the taking!

I dont know if I'm going to stick to the dark woods and blacks,

I have an urge to paint things a matte off white
( I may regret that )

I love our new throw pillows.

The large red matches that accent wall really well,

the small script pillow just makes me happy.

I got this cool paper oriental lamp for about $35!

Awesome deal.

Our table seating chart from our wedding was a beautiful addition!

I might change out the frame and actually put it behind glass.
( after it spent about 2 weeks in Nick's car its pretty beat up now )

This has been bothering me! But Nick is slowly putting our table together.

Yes I just gave up and bought a table from Kmart.
Its a pretty, rustic-style table and it was only about $160

I added my old study table to our bedroom.

I figured with school going on this will come in handy.

Plus that little TV fit perfectly in the cubby.

I'm thinking of getting a vanity chair to put under.

Excuse the cluttler, but this is our bed!

I decided to stick to earth tones for the bedroom.

Browns, Sage green and white.

Its easier and I just love those colors together.

So there it is!

Our little nest is coming together quite well!

I can't wait to get the last few essentials so I can get down to the fun part-

Decorating!

I wish I had pictures.

So I started my day off today by rolling out of bed, stuffing my face with an english muffin- threw my hair up in a messy bun and headed for the library. Group projects aren't so fun when you're all by yourself.

Although I did find some excellent information for my research project on Audrey Niffenegger. She's the author of The Time Traveler's Wife and an illustrator, graduated from the Chicago School of art and design. (you know, the school I didnt go to because of snow.)  I love this woman.

So I bought some throw pillows for our couch.

I decided on matching the vibrant color of the accent wall and went with some large brick-red pillows and two small accent pillows with red writing on them.

We also purchased a small dining table from K-mart.

I was getting tired of not having anywhere to eat or do homework at.

It's a five piece, square, tall dining set.

It has a bit of a rustic style to it with the wood panels.

The building of it is still a work in progress.

I also got hooks for behind the bathroom door so we can hang towels.

A hook rack for behind our closet door for jewelry, ties and what not.

Everything is coming together!

We just need a shelf of somekind to place the TV on in the living room!

Busy Bee that is me.

My goodness its midterms already! I just registered for next quarter and Im almost through with my midterms. So far (I think) so good. Between work, freelancing, getting our new place ready and school- I hardly sleep now. 

I woke up this morning around 4:30am to finish up some homework before heading to class and taking the midterm test. Oh my! 

On a side note, even though Nick and I are being slowpokes moving into our new place- we should be ready to sleep there within the next couple of days. 

Essentials we need:

King sized bed sheets

Pots & Pans

Dining table

Room lamps

omigosh I WANT THOSE BED SHEETS!

Lovely things today:

- I got a thank you card for my pop & step mom for letting us stay with them after the wedding.

- Im going to drop off some beautiful flowers for my wonderful mother-in-law for her birthday in a bit.

- just started following a new blog dedicated to all things turquoise in home decorating!

Social Butterfly

So, Ive had quite a week.
I've stepped out of my comfortable shell and dove head first into social butterfly status.
I figured its a new chapter in life and a new school.

What the hell right?

So far so good!
As for the condo- a cleaner is coming and the power should be getting turned on today.
We're just going to shop around for a new mattress and some rugs to put down on the tile flooring and I think we'll be set!

Life has definately sent me on ups and downs
and I think I deserve a little up time.

Disney on ice & first day of school

Sitting in my first class and blogging during first break.
Early saturday morning class would usually put me in a poopoo mood BUT wait, I get to play with photoshop for four hours? YES PLEASE!

My instructor so far is pretty chill and Im not too scared to miss the two saturdays I have photo-sessions booked up for February and March.

Asside from that, Im also super chipper that Im near Coffee Bean! My house is so far from CB that I hardly ever go but now that school is just a few minutes away- its Tea time for Jesi!

FUN UPDATE:
TOY STORY 3 Disney on ice Last night!

Went with Vanessa, Katy Beth & Lisa. It was actually more fun than I expected and super adorable.

My nephew and sister were there and we snuck down to some empty seats near them. (We're such rebels!)

Ken & Barbie were hillarious- Katy Beth needs to convince Richard to be Ken for Halloween.

Rex was probably my favorite.
His little arms were so funny.

Although we did find the snow cone cups to be rather disturbing.

They were the characters heads and you ate the ice like it was their rainbow colored brains.

Take 4 girls, reverting back to childhood, hopped up on sugar & having way too much fun with Katy Beth's door locks in her car and you have yourself a fun -blogworthy- night!
