Our New Nest Progress

So we finally have a place to sit!
(That round chair is for the patio)
I grabbed this little side table from my grandma,
she replaced it with a large cabinet so it was free for the taking!
I dont know if I'm going to stick to the dark woods and blacks,
I have an urge to paint things a matte off white
( I may regret that )
I love our new throw pillows.
The large red matches that accent wall really well,
the small script pillow just makes me happy.
I got this cool paper oriental lamp for about $35!
Awesome deal.
Our table seating chart from our wedding was a beautiful addition!
I might change out the frame and actually put it behind glass.
( after it spent about 2 weeks in Nick's car its pretty beat up now )
This has been bothering me! But Nick is slowly putting our table together.
Yes I just gave up and bought a table from Kmart.
Its a pretty, rustic-style table and it was only about $160
I added my old study table to our bedroom.
I figured with school going on this will come in handy.
Plus that little TV fit perfectly in the cubby.
I'm thinking of getting a vanity chair to put under.
Excuse the cluttler, but this is our bed!
I decided to stick to earth tones for the bedroom.
Browns, Sage green and white.
Its easier and I just love those colors together.

So there it is!
Our little nest is coming together quite well!
I can't wait to get the last few essentials so I can get down to the fun part-
Decorating!

I wish I had pictures.

So I started my day off today by rolling out of bed, stuffing my face with an english muffin- threw my hair up in a messy bun and headed for the library. Group projects aren't so fun when you're all by yourself.

Although I did find some excellent information for my research project on Audrey Niffenegger. She's the author of The Time Traveler's Wife and an illustrator, graduated from the Chicago School of art and design. (you know, the school I didnt go to because of snow.)  I love this woman.

Our new nest updates:
(pictures to come soon)
So I bought some throw pillows for our couch.
I decided on matching the vibrant color of the accent wall and went with some large brick-red pillows and two small accent pillows with red writing on them.

We also purchased a small dining table from K-mart.
I was getting tired of not having anywhere to eat or do homework at.
It's a five piece, square, tall dining set.
It has a bit of a rustic style to it with the wood panels.

The building of it is still a work in progress.

I also got hooks for behind the bathroom door so we can hang towels.
A hook rack for behind our closet door for jewelry, ties and what not.

Everything is coming together!

We just need a shelf of somekind to place the TV on in the living room!

A wonderful start!

So I had the best shopping spree today.
They upped the discount I have at JCPenney's to 25% off!
(since I work at the portrait studio)
plus they've lowered all their prices to coupon prices
= $150 spent < bathroom & kitchen essentials CHECK!

I also had the most therapeutic cleaning frenzy ever!
I used comet on everything I could!
I even scrubbed the doors and wiped down the light bulbs.

That lovely bathroom rug on the floor has memory foam
It's like giving my toes soft kisses
The soft blues and teal is all around
Like this new gorgeous shower curtain!
I'm in love!
Also, this brilliant idea I had turned out as amazing as I had hoped it would.
Its just some decorative rocks in a small vase.
(total cost = under $5)
And it wont have the nasty scum at the bottom of the jar that makes me want to throw up.

The Kitchen!

So that rug cost me about $10-$12

Light blue everywhere!
Look at these gorgeous matching bowls, plates and mugs!

Whole set cost me about $25

Decorating Ideas

I can't wait to start decorating our place (once we find one)
I've been thinking of color schemes and designs. I'm thinking very simplistic, modern with a touch of bohemian... if that at all makes sense.

For the bathroom here's the color scheme I was thinking.

Something like this...
(Im not a big fan of the vase on the side or the decoration on the wall)

As for the kitchen, Im not sure what accent tone I'd like.
I know that I want shades of brown and cream but I cant decide if I want sage or red.

Anyways, we're looking at a few condos tonight, Ill update we find anything we like.
