Hello I'm Jesi, and I have a problem...

I'm so addicted to Pinterest. Every chance I get, I'm on there. I've even made a folder on my desktop of inspirational pictures for my blog and home design. 

One idea I do have though, that I didn't get from Pinterest is what to put on our wall above the couch. I want a ton of white frames, different sizes to be scattered all over. And every frame will have a hot air balloon print inside, all with a faded vintage style. I figured the different colors will help tie the room together and well, I just LOVE hot air balloons. Then I can squeeze random frames with quotes about love, family, scriptures and so on. 

I do apologize for how disorganized this post is going to be, but I figured I'd post some inspirational pics:

I was looking for things to put above our bed and I thought this was a
nice & simple design. (obviously with our initials)

This is along the lines of what I was thinking for our living room,
but I don't know how I feel about the overly organized.
It's surprising really that someone who's as OCD as I am,
thinks that some chaos is a better route.

I've also had my eye on the empty wall in the kitchen.
Also painted the same accent tone as the wall in the living room.
I think Im going to use this as my inspiration for the kitchen and
put up some shelves. Decorate the shelves with frames, flowers and etc.
I could even stack three different frames that spell out E.A.T

I'M IN A PICKLE and I HATE pickles.

I'm trying to be thrifty and buy some used furniture on craigslist

( obviously going to check out the stuff first )

but I can't seem to judge if the love seat I have my eye on will match my patterned couch.

I know things don't have to be too matchy-matchy 

but I don't want my house to look like a thrift store gone wrong either.

Please take note that our kitchen and bathroom all have that shade of teal as decor.

So, here's our living room at the moment.

I was hoping that the rug would tie things together since it has

beige stripes with blue stripes.

So my idea is to place the love seat going at perpendicular 

position from the closer end of the couch in this picture. 

(so if it were placed there, you'd be looking at the back of it) 

Then to pull things together, I was thinking of putting that patterned pillow

on the teal couch to create a good balance/contrast.

MY OTHER PICKLE

So far everything in our home (furniture, frames) consists of 

black or dark wood.

I so badly want a brighter home with white or light gray accents 

and have had the thought of painting all of them.

This is the side table that Im thinking of painting a matte gray.

Here are the CONS to doing this.

1. Our kitchen table we JUST bought is black with dark wood panels for the top.

Painting this would be difficult and also I don't know if I want to paint such a new table.

2. The trim on that couch matches our side table perfectly as is.

3. I don't know if gray will offset the warm accent walls too much.

Then again, this shows how gorgeous gray and warm oranges look together.

The good, the bad & the ugly

The good:
We got approved for the condo today! So that means we'll be all cozy in our own place in less than a month! Also, I had a free day of doing nothing (this is also listed in the bad) I didn't have class today or work- I actually slept till 11 and all day watched shows like Boy Meets World, Big Bang Theory and got caught up on many shows I watch on Hulu.

The Bad:
Well, like I stated, I did nothing today. Not even homework. But the night is semi-young... lets say the night is in it's mid 30s. I'll do some homework and hopefully lots of cleaning.
Another bad- I'm getting sick of the lectures coming from my family about buying a house. I agree with them that its a better investment to purchase a home and that the mortgage payments are cheaper than renting. What they can't seem to get through their minds is that I already had this talk with Nick and he doesn't want to go through with it- no matter all the pros behind it. I dont get how they can still lecture me when I already agree with them!

The ugly:
Our bedroom. Its a disaster! Its very difficult to keep a small room clean when you cram all the things both of us own into it. Also, neither of us like to hang up clothes. Its a habit we need to kick when we get our own place. I am determined to keep a very clean and neat home!

Another ugly, our finances. We're not in a horrible situation BUT getting our own place is going to change our lifestyle dramatically. We dont go out and purchase extravagant things, I dont even remember the last time I got to go shopping- but we do go out alot to eat. Nick and I frequent at a few restaurants. That is going to have to be cut out of our budget.

Im also very anal when it comes to planning. I make lists, keep a planner journal, etc. Nick on the other hand is not this way. He's the 'take it easy until its time to panic at the last minute' person. This poses a problem in our relationship. So now that he wants to talk about our finances because he's worried we can't afford this place- Im a little peaved. He wants to talk about this NOW that we already put in the application fee.



Hmmm- I think I may have deeper issues than the intended post. *awkward*

Living in color.

This is the perfect representation of the accent walls in the condo we liked.

Im loving the clean white furniture, Im just afraid of it getting dirty too quickly.

I'd really like to get a big white down comforter and a fluffy white rug for the bedroom-

but I think I'll have to go with the cream or beige option.

Bathroom color palette:

The colors are cool and perfect for the clean feeling a bathroom needs.

Kitchen color palette:

I mean, how cute is this?

Now the dining room, is a very small space & is just an extension from the kitchen.

Keeping things plain and simple will help us avoid the cluttered look.

I LOVE country style dining rooms.
Distressed wooden tables, mismatched chairs, etc.
I'd keep the colors, clean and neutral.

Lastly, the living room.

I was thinking, I'd play off of the warm tone of the copper wall.

And tie all the colors in from other rooms, since this is the most open room.

Everyone who knows me, knows I love fall colors.
(Hence- my wedding colors)

I'm also a huge on using warm colors for areas like the living room or the bedroom.

It's far more inviting and I can see myself sitting with a book on a big fluffy couch.

Now the one piece of furniture I KNOW I want in the living room is a...
